I used Costa Angels recently when I was scheduled to go in to hospital for an operation on my elbow. We discussed my needs prior to the operation and made arrangements for care in the first few days of my recovery.
Claudia was my Costa Angel and picked me up from my home and drove me to the hospital. She was there to meet me after and take me back to my townhouse. The following 2 days were difficult for me but Claudia was there preparing my meals, reminding me when to take my medication and helping me get changed and washed. She was such great company which took my mind off the pain but also she respected my privacy when I was on the phone to family back in the UK and when friends popped in to see me.
I ended up extending the care for a further 2 days and this was the best decision as it helped me make a full recovery and get back to work. If I’m honest I didn’t want her to go but, and I mean this in the nicest way possible, I hope I do not need a Costa Angel for a long time!
You should be very proud of the service you offer – I cannot thank you enough!Nicola Tucker, aged 53,
The hardest decision for me in my position was to admit that I needed help; I am a very private and proud man. Once I did and met my Costa Angel, Lewis, my life changed for the better.
Nothing was too much trouble for this young man; he had patience, was polite at all times and plays an impressive game of scrabble and chess! It is so refreshing to have a renewed energy in my house since my wife died, his positive outlook on life has had an effect on me too.
I now look forward to our daily walks whereas before I felt isolated and did not want to leave the house.
My experience dealing with Costa Angels has been a positive one from the beginning and their service is surprisingly affordable.
I would have no hesitation in recommending them whatever your situation.Mr H Wood, aged 71,
I suffer from Rheumatoid Arthritis and have done since I was 26 years old. I moved to Spain because of my condition and the weather does certainly help.
I am now 48 years old and over time it has become increasingly difficult to cope with everyday activities such as personal grooming, dressing, cooking etc. Some days are better than others and occasionally I would have a flare up of the condition which renders me incapable of even opening a door!
I approached Costa Angels amongst other agencies just to establish what form of care was available to me in terms of services and cost.
The first Assessment Appointment with them was to outline my options and I was impressed by their professionalism but also their ability to be flexible and provide all manner of help on an ad hoc basis. I now use their services as and when I need them depending on my ability to function on a particular day.
I usually have Sophia as my main carer and she has been invaluable to me; my dignity is always protected at all times and we have become great friends.Ms M Battle, aged 48,
We first contacted Costa Angels when my mother suffered from a fall and broke her hip.
My wife and I both work full time and we have 2 children of school age so being able to look after my mother when she returned from hospital was a juggling act. It had an impact on my mother emotionally too as she felt that she was being a burden. We tried not to let it show how difficult we found it coping with an additional dependant.
Costa Angels came up with some solutions to help us and we chose the option that worked the best taking into consideration the other needs of the family. My mother was able to return to her own home which was a lot quieter than our madhouse.
Her assigned carer was Lesley who lived in 24 hours initially just until my mother felt confident enough to be on her own. Lesley remains a part of my mother’s life since her full recovery and we now use the domestic help service that Costa Angels provide.
On reflection it is hard to envisage how we would have coped and if my mother would have made such a rapid recovery without the help of Costa Angels. We really are extremely grateful.Richard & Dawn Ross, Malaga, Spain,
